Next we went for a Sampan ride at Aberdeen Harbour (石排湾 or 香港仔). Aberdeen is well-known for its floating islands where the local fishermen spent whole day long in their boats to find a living. They even lived in their boats. It is also home to the floating restaurant, Jumbo. The best way to take a cruise tour to Aberdeen Harbour is by riding a sampan for around 30 minutes that charged HKD55. In addition, there were many luxurious marine boats that belong to the rich guys moored by the harbour too.
So after enjoying our sampan ride we were brought to the Hong Kong Jewellery Factory. We were guided into a small room and listen to a brief introduction conducted by the worker there. I listened to her intently cuz our tour guide told us they will have a secret gift for us if we answered correctly during the Q&A session. We were not allowed to take any photos in the factory anyway. She told us that windmill is the symbol of Hong Kong, so it is embellished with silver or gold to make it into jewelleries. Each side of the windmill represents something good that is believed to bring us luck. Right during the Q&A session I raised my hands so swiftly and answered her question correctly. I leapt to joy cuz the secret gift was a Garnet (红榴石). *I didn't take the photo of the Garnet I received.* My boy laughed at me non-stop cuz he feel like I'm even more concentrate during my lecture lolol...Right after that we continued to Repulse Bay (浅水湾) which is an area where the housing rates are the highest. During our way heading to Repulse Bay beach we passed by many houses that belong to the international superstars including Jackie Chan and Jackie Cheung. Oh my god the houses here huge and luxurious. If you didn't have silver spoon in your mouth you might not get to own such house in your entire life.
Unwitting of time, we had to prepare for our set off to Shen Zhen (深圳). We were guided to board MRT from Hong Hum (红磡) station to Lo Wu (罗湖) station, which is an end to end route that lasted around 45 minutes. By then we met our new tour guide and headed to FX hotel for check in. As usual we enjoy leisure activities ourselves before we had Shenzhen city tour the next morning.
The fried banana in Shenzhen is extremely huge which is completely different from
Malaysia-style fried banana that is sliced into pieces. But it is tasty!
The next morning, we dressed up ourselves in extremely thick outfiits to keep ourselves warm cuz the weather in Shenzhen was inexplicably cold. We headed to the bamboo factory and a few other factories that produce local items of Shenzhen.
Bamboo-made products ♥
The most unforgettable visit in Shenzhen is Dongmen Pedestrian Zone (东门步行街) which is also called the shopping paradise of Shenzhen. Dongmen Pedestrian Zone is full of outlets and kiosks where branded items were sold and the price were quite reasonable. It is a good place for shopping and you may spend loads of time there if you are fond of shopping!
Pot pudding (钵仔糕)
After Dongmen Pedestrian Zone we departed to Mini China, which is a kind of cultural village. We watched an on-stage performance of Chinese customs and traditions so that we could understand Chinese traditions better. It is an awesome performance with spectacular scenes and effects!
